The TISAX standard includes several security modules, such as TISAX Information Security, TISAX Data Protection, and TISAX Prototype Protection. Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) in the automotive industry collaborate with multiple suppliers and partners, often sharing confidential information. To ensure the protection of this sensitive data and prevent losses, manipulations, or theft of business information, OEMs require their suppliers to implement TISAX. The TISAX certification proves that an organization has established a reliable information security system, and in many cases, it is a prerequisite for entering into contracts.
TISAX can be implemented at different security levels depending on the customer’s requirements and the level of data protection needed:
- TISAX Level 1: Basic assessment with the lowest security level.
- TISAX Level 2: A verification by a TISAX-accredited certification body, ensuring high-level compliance, with assessments conducted every three years.
- TISAX Level 3: The highest security level, verified annually.
Taking a proactive approach to information security is essential in modern business, regardless of the industry. If your OEM has not specified which TISAX level is required, it’s a good idea to identify the necessary level of security. TISAX certification ensures your organization is prepared to meet future security requirements without the need for repeated assessments from customers.
